FIFTH GRADE TEACHER

I grew up in Rockland County, New York, and earned my Master’s degree in Special Education from Hunter College. Throughout my career as an educator, I have been passionate about creating inclusive, student-driven classrooms where every child feels seen, supported, and excited to learn. My teaching philosophy is rooted in building strong relationships with students, incorporating their interests and ideas into learning, and using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to ensure all students have meaningful ways to access, engage with, and demonstrate their learning. I especially love project-based learning and connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences. As students prepare for the transition to middle school, I also place a strong emphasis on executive functioning, social-emotional growth, self-advocacy, and independence, helping students develop the organization, confidence, resilience, and problem-solving skills they need for their next chapter. I believe families are essential partners in this process, and open, consistent communication and collaboration are incredibly important to me. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you, learning from your children, and working together to make this a meaningful and memorable school year!
