IRINA CLARK

FOURTH GRADE TEACHER

Irina Clark is from Brooklyn, New York and grew up attending New York City Public Schools. After graduating from the University of Rochester with a BA in English, Irina worked in sales and marketing for 7 years before going back to school for her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Having earned her degree from Hunter College, Irina joined the PS 527 community as an assistant teacher in 2016. She was drawn to the school’s positive school culture and unique tight-knit community. The following year Irina opened kindergarten class K-D where she is currently head teacher. Irina currently serves on PS 527’s School Leadership Team as well as the Equity Leadership Committee.

Irina believes that each child is a unique individual with their own ideas, opinions, and abilities. Placed in a safe, creative, and encouraging educational environment, children have unlimited potential for learning and growth. Irina strives to create a classroom culture of compassion and kindness. Her hope is that every student leaves her classroom as an independent thinker and bucket filler.
