FOURTH GRADE teacher
Jamie Krinsky was born and raised in Rockland County, New York. She graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2011 with a degree in Childhood Education. Jamie earned her first master’s degree in Educational Technology from Pace University in 2013 and she earned her second master’s degree in Special Education from Hunter College in 2018.
Jamie comes from a long line of educators, but her main inspiration came from the years she spent in her mother’s fifth grade classroom. It was there that she recognized the real rewards of this profession.
Jamie spent five years teaching fourth grade at a private school in Manhattan where she taught English Language Arts, Mathematics and Global Studies. Jamie’s teaching style combines academic challenges with innovation. She feels it is important to actively engage children in the educational process in order to spark their love for learning. Albert Einstein once said, “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” Jamie supports this philosophy and encourages her students to exceed their limits by capitalizing on their strengths and individuality. She believes that everyday is a new opportunity to develop a young mind. It is truly a gift to love what you do and Jamie has been given that gift.
Jamie joined the PS 527 team in September 2016 and helped to create and launch the fourth grade! She looks forward to working collaboratively with the faculty, staff, students, parents and community in the upcoming year!
